Mrs. Juliette Osborn, widow of the late Jerome Osborn, died December 21, 1906 at the home of her adopted daughter Mrs. Lilah Cramer, 87 West Man Street, Little Falls. Mrs. Osborn was the daughter of John and Sally Richards and was born near Newport in 1831. On October 4, 1853 she married Jerome Osborn and they settled on the Osborn homestead near Herkimer, where they lived until a few years ago when they moved to the Sanderson place near the county home. Her death is the sad ending of the family. They had two sons, Frankie, who died quite young and Olin in June 1905. Her latter days were unusual. In August of 1904 she had a shock which rendered her helpless, in June of 1905 her only remaining child died and in January of 1906 her husband was suddenly called away leaving her helpless and alone, but a host of friends lent a helping hand to smooth her last days. Early in life she united with the Methodist church and remained a member until the end. In case of sickness or death in the neighborhood "Aunt Julia" was on hand and seemed to know just what to do. A neighborly, generous, hospitable and noble woman has gone. She leaves besides her adopted daughter, who tenderly cared for her during her last days, three brothers, Lafayette and Sidney Richard of Schuyler and Ezra of California. Interment in Oak Hill cemetery December 22, 1906.

Printed in the Ilion Citizen, Thursday December 27, 1906 page 2.
