Actor. Born in Cannes, France, he was handsome and talented legendary idol of the French cinema. He made his film debut in "Les Petites du Quai aux Fleurs" (1943) and gained fame as a result of his performance in "Devil in the Flesh" (1946). Noted for his versatility and professionalism, he appeared in over 30 films such as "La Ronde" (1951), "It Happened in the Park' (1953), "The Red and the Black" (1954), "Le Joueur" (1958) and "Les Liaisons dangereuses" (1959). Recognized worldwide, he was at the pinnacle of his career when he died of cancer at age 36 in Paris, France.
