Private James A. Cooper
Served with Co.I 7th Calif. Vol. Inf. during the Civil War of 1861-65
He Came to Nevada during the Civil war With the 7th Calfonina Inf. and Liked the Place,
He later moved to the Sliver State in the Mid 1860s were he became a Miner, Working in the Orpa Mine and later became the Yard Man (Foreman above ground) at the Yellow Jacket Mine some time around 1885 until his death of a Heart attack on May 21 1902,
He was Buried by the Local Grand Army Of The Republic (Civil War Veterans group) Post No. 10 GAR. Vinginia City NV

The Attached Photo is Courtesy of the Wild West Museum on C Street Virginia City NV. I thank them for letting me copy it for find a grave, The Photo has no Photographer on the back but it does have a 3 Cent Tax stamp which would date it from 1863-65, There is a Inked ID on the back that Reads
" To my loving Klara In memory of my Younger days Love J.A. Cooper" I do not know who Klara was but he is buried alone in the grave. The Photos of his grave and the cemetery were taken in Sept. 2001.
