The second youngest son of seven children of Sicilian immigrants Leonardo and Rosaria Digati, Lenny lived in the town of Bristol for his entire life. He served overseas in the United States Army in World War II in the 63rd "Blood and Fire" infantry which was instrumental in several French campaigns. He was a graduate of Bryant College and worked as an accounts executive for AIRCO/Rhode Island Welding Supply in East Greenwich, Rhode Island until his retirement. Lenny loved baseball and was an avid enthusiast closely following the careers of his beloved Boston Red Sox, his favorite player of all time being the late, great Ted Williams. He loved the beach and was a regular fixture on the quiet shores of the small beaches of his hometown. He played tennis and enjoyed gardening. His most famous endeavor was growing a 22" zucchini as well as a famed garden featuring 100 tomato plants. He was much beloved by all of the kids in the neighborhood for several generations all of which called him "Uncle Len". His voice was soft and his easy going personality reminded all of his father, after whom he was named. HIs greatest pleasure in life was spending time with his brother Joe, relaxing in the garage, listening to the Red Sox on the radio and enjoying a cold Narragansett beer. He was everyone's best neighbor and favorite uncle.
