This is the old post cemetery for Fort Reno. The earliest known grave is from 1874. This cemetery contains US horse cavalry soldiers, their family members, and some Native Americans.

During World War Two, German and Italian POWs were buried in a fenced off cemetery annex. They were deceased POWs from the prison camp Fort Reno and other prison camps around Oklahoma.

One notable grave is that of Johannes Kunze of the Tonkawa Camp. He was murdered by some of his fellow POWs who accused him of being a traitor to the German cause. Five German POWs accused of the murder of Kunze were put on trial at Camp Gruber, Oklahoma, then executed at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.

Another notable grave is that of Chalk, an Indian scout.
