Beaver Cemetery, also known as Old Beaver Creek Cemetery is located in Section 2, Township 14 North, Range 24 East approximately six miles south of Stilwell in Adair County, Oklahoma. On October 26, 1937, Works Progress Administration field workers, Gus Hummingbird and W.J.B. Bigby surveyed the cemetery. They wrote that Old Creek Beaver established the cemetery in 1839, following the arrival of the Cherokees to the West on the Trail of Tears. They also recorded the existence of approximately forty-five graves in the cemetery, of which none are marked. In 1937, Clem Beaver, the grandson of Old Creek Beaver, owned the cemetery land.

Driving Directions: Go six miles south of Stilwell on Highway 59, turn right (west) on Nellie Mays Greasy School Road. Keep going west after the paved road ends. Stay on the dirt road about five miles, at which time there is a decline and a watershed crossing (known as Beaver Gap). Keep left of the small bridge. The gate to the cemetery is on the right just before the bridge.
