When Magdalene Yoder, age 3, died of scarlet fever on June 20, 1876, her grandfather, Isaac Eash, set aside this plot of land on his farm to be used for a cemetery. Magdalene was the first to be buried in the Eash Cemetery. She was the second child of Levi and Catherine Yoder, born Aug. 13, 1872 at Sharon Center, Johnson County, Iowa. All graves in this cemetery have been included and are listed. Courtesy, Donald Kauffman research.

The cemetery is very well maintained. The old wire fence has been replaced with sturdy vinyl, thanks to monetary contributions and donated labor making this possible. A sign, approved by the Caretaker, has also been added. Mary Lou Freeman Yoder
