and donated Mount Hope and Fairlawn
as a last resting place for the dead
and a perpetual support of Christian
education for the living.
From this sacred trust no individual
can ever profit. All income from this
property is devoted to the expense of
operation, beautifying and maintaining
these grounds and to the support of
Washburn College

Chartered in 1906 for
one thousand years.
