Some older tombstones predate the establishment of this cemetery. The cemetery was moved from a former location, now known as the Old Fifield Cemetery. The old site was prone to flooding, and all (except a few) graves were relocated here.
Forest Home Cemetery was mentioned in the book "The Wisconsin Road Guide to Haunted Locations", by authors Chad Lewis and Terry Fisk. According to the book, visitors have noticed mists around headstones, shadows, glowing orbs of light, and some of these anomalies have even appeared in photos. There is a regional folklore about paranormal activity at the cemetery, with reports of people hearing voices, experiencing unusual sensations, and hearing the toll of a bell in the belltower (while not being rung).
Forrest Home Cemetery is managed and Maintained by the City of Fifield. It is a beautiful place, containing some beautiful stonework, and is surrounded by forest land.
