The Gold Star Mother Memorial is dedicated to all the ‘gold star mothers' who have lost a child in the service of the United States. It is located in the south west corner of one of the large veteran areas. The unveiling ceremony took place Saturday 12th June 2010, the inspiration of Colleen Parkin, herself a ‘Gold Star Mom'-a club nobody wants to join of course. The natural Utah-Quarried limestone is emblazoned with:
"In Loving Memory of all Gold Star Mothers, past, present and future"
-and bears a large five-point star. It stands next to a new 35 foot flag-staff.
