"Lonely Resting Places," Salt Lake Tribune, Home Magazine, 29 Aug 1965, p3. "A small plot of ground on top of a knoll two-and-a-half miles south of Marysvale, Piute County, is the burial ground for 13 persons. The cemetery, known locally as Dennis Cemetery, is surrounded by a crude wire fence, which sets it off from the rest of the landscape. There are no markers to distinguish the graves. Here lies buried one of the first settlers, William T. Dennis, a prospector who became a homesteader when the excitement of a gold rush ended. The cemetery posed a problem to the Utah State Road Commission when a new and wider highway was constructed from Marysvale to Junction in 1961. The Antiquity Law, which provides for protection of archaeological finds and natural landscapes made it necessary for the Road Commission to alter its plans slightly to by-pass the cemetery. The plot now lies within the highway right-of-way, just a few feet from the edge of the hard surface road."
