4 adjoining ranchers Robert S. Winslow, James (Jim) Harper, Willie Roberts and Elkin (Babe) Waddell, each fenced out one acre of land for a community school, which was called the Dry Creek School District. The school house was built on the section given by Mr. Waddell while the cemetery was on the property which came from the Roberts ranch.
A few headstones are still visible but there may be other burials that are not marked since residents of the area believed there were 8 to 10 graves there in the 1930's.
Bob Reeves died while visiting at the Waddell home and was originally buried in the Waddell Cemetery, though his body was later exhumed and moved to another cemetery.
Located on Waddell Lane west of Menard off Hwy 190, it must be noted that this cemetery is on private property and access to the public is denied.
