Search New Lisbon Developmental Center Cemetery:

This cemetery was established in 1915. It is on the grounds of the New Lisbon Developmental Center (NLDC) which was established in 1914 and became a state training institute in 1916. In almost all cases, the persons buried here were former patients of NLDC. Before taking its present name the institution was called Four Mile Colony, The New Jersey Colony for Feeble-Minded, and The New Lisbon State School. There is also a section of nearby Pemberton, NJ called New Lisbon. There is an old Potters field (Burlington County Potters Field) whose description lists its address as New Lisbon, Burlington County, NJ that is often confused with the NLDC cemetery but the two are not related.
