Ogilvie Cemetery

Jacksonville, Duval County, Florida, USA
Memorials 159 added (98% photographed)

This cemetery is located on the Northside of Jacksonville. It is the “family cemetery” of the Ogilvie family. David Ogilvie emigrated from Scotland in 1836, first settling on Amelia Island, FL before moving south to Duval County. The cemetery is on the south side of Thomas Creek across from the Ogilvie home. Ogilvie’s father-in-law, Allen Geiger died June 7, 1873 and was the first to be buried in the cemetery. The cemetery is on the banks of the creek in a grove of old trees and may be reached from Jacksonville by taking Lem Turner Road north for fifteen miles to Lannie Road. It is located one and one- tenth miles on the left on a little travelled road which leads through a hammock for about one half mile to the cemetery gate.
