The congregation of the Lancaster Presbyterian Church formed in 1835 and built its first church shortly thereafter. The earliest known burial in the church cemetery is that of Dr. John H Brown in September 1836. In 1862 Lancaster Presbyterian Church built the first brick church building in the city of Lancaster.
The Olde Presbyterian Church is listed in the National Register.
In 1926 the congregation moved to a new church on Main Street in Lancaster.
In 1976 the old church building and cemetery was purchased by the Lancaster County Society for Historical Preservation Inc. Recently they started restoration work on the old historic cemetery and one by one the old stones are being put back together.
