Also known as:  Saint Cyril Cemetery

The Church of Saints Cyril and Method and accompanying cemetery were established in 1917. The church in Schenectady had a large number of parishioners of Slovakian heritage. The Parish’s cemetery was comprised of 18 acres of level ground and was managed by the church before coming under the management of Albany Diocesan Cemeteries on October 1, 1987. Father James Benish officiated the last funeral out of Sts. Cyrils and Method Church for Paul Wahl age 83 died January 29, 1979. The very first burial in the cemetery noted in interment records now kept in Mount Carmel’s archives was for Ludmilla Ralbovsky, age 18 months died September 1, 1917 and buried in section B. A modest stone marks the family’s gravesite. Cemetery grounds are open 8 am – 8pm.
