Aylsham is a busy market town on the banks of the River Bure in Norfolk.
During the 14th century it was the chief town in the area for the manufacture of linen, then called "Aylsham Webb" or "Cloth of Aylsham". This was later followed by woollen and worsted weaving. It is now famous for its markets and auctions.
The Parish Church, the town's oldest building, stands in the town centre at the north-west corner of the Market Place. St. Michael's is an Anglican church
