This cemetery is located on a hill named "Round Top". This hill is near where Dwight Moody was born, it is where he often preached, and where he and his wife Emma chose to be buried. Dwight and Emma are the only people buried here.
In 2009, Northfield Mount Hermon School sold 217 of their 2,184 acres of the Northfield property (the core campus) to Hobby Lobby, Inc. The school did not sell it's stake in "Round Top"; the school co-owns the property with a Moody descendent family. The school is looking for ways to best steward both "the Birthplace" and "Round Top".
The Massachusetts Historical Commission refers to this cemetery in MACRIS as NFL800.
