Known as the “Cemetery on St. Clair,” Prospect has been serving the community since 1890. Natural features woven into the cemetery’s landscaping make it one of Toronto’s most beautiful green spaces.

The Hall of Niches features glass-fronted and marble-fronted cremation niches, while the columbariums of Prospect Court Mausoleum and the older Garden Mausoleum have granite-fronted niches.

In 2007, a state-of-the-art four-storey Mausoleum of the Sacred Souls was added around the original cemetery office. Also, a third storey was added over the existing outdoor court mausoleum creating what is called the Mausoleum of the Last Supper.

The Lights of the Madonna Memorial, a granite statue located at the entrance to Prospect Court Mausoleum, features an illuminated Madonna and Child. Inscriptions are engraved on the plaques below.

The Veterans’ Section is dedicated to Canadian and Allied veterans and their spouses.

Prospect Cemetery is part of the Mount Pleasant Group (MPG) which operates 10 cemeteries across the Greater Toronto Area. The MPG website provides a searchable index of burials in all the MPG cemeteries.
