Hay's Cemetery is the oldest cemetery in Easton and vicinity. It was used as a burial ground as early as 1760 but there are no records for the earliest burials. The first ground added to the original site was purchased in 1813 from John Odenwelder Jr. Again in 1848 and 1850, additional ground was bought from Daniel Odenwelder and Margaret Miller. There are references in early obituaries that this was sometimes referred to as Odenwelder's Cemetery.
In the year 1863 application was made for a charter when the cemetery association was incorporated under the name of "The Union Church and Cemetery Association". Today it is called Hays Cemetery. It is located at the corner of Lincoln and Packer Streets in South Easton.
There is no office onsite only a building that serves as storage for the records and other items.
