Cemetery Section Map

The Large Mausoleum is located in the north-western corner of Section H. The Photo is taken from Section G. Section K is off to the left, in the distance, on a slopping hill. The Mausoleum is virtually in the center of the front Niles City (Union) Cemetery today. There are 29-columns of vaults on the left and right side; designed for 290 caskets. Elevations are labeled A at floor-level to E at top.

Modern casket widths do not fit, as the building is over 100 years old. The "Trumbull County, Ohio Cemetery Inscriptions 1800-1930" lists 181 names interred here, when republished in 1983, on Pages 387-388 (4 names not located in 2017 {vandalism suspect}; the bldg. is locked with Sexton controlled access).

Pages 387-388 list names in A to E order, on the left side first (north wall), then on the right side (east wall). There have been 7 burials from 1988-2010 and 4 stones cut after 1983 with earlier dates. The names of 197 interred here were determined in April 2017.

Section 3, Garden Mausoleum 6/4/2018. Holds cremations urns. Twenty-four niches per 4-sides. Chapel to left. Area adds 3, 48 NICHE COLUMBARIUMS in 2019. Total urns as per niche engravings: 57 in August 2019.
