The United American Cemetery is on Duck Creek Road east of Strathmore Drive in the Madisonville neighborhood of Cincinnati, Ohio. This is an African American cemetery, founded in 1883 by the United Colored American Association (UCAA). The UCAA purchased this property in 1880 and hired noted landscape architect Adolph Strauch to design the grounds. Strauch died shortly thereafter, however, and the extent of his involvement is uncertain.
This cemetery contains many graves and gravestones moved from an earlier, now-defunct cemetery in Cincinnati's Avondale neighborhood, Find a Grave I.D. 2756520. That cemetery was established in 1848. The graves and gravestones were moved to this site in 1883-1884.
In 1968, the UCAA disbanded, and Cincinnati's Union Baptist Church assumed ownership and maintenance of this cemetery. This cemetery was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2022.
The cemetery is currently operated by:
