The known cemeteries of Carroll County were documented in the late 1990's and a map was made of their locations. If the cemetery names were unknown, they were listed as "Unnamed", followed by a designated #, according to their locations on the map. This is how "Unnamed Cemetery #86" came about being named.
Recently explored, the oldest stone found so far has a death date of 1843. The cemetery has been unkept for at least 5 decades and has been through numerous devastating floods. Visiting here, is not for the faint of heart. It is consumed by downed trees, limbs, buck brush, vines, sticker bushes and etc. Stones have toppled over, and some have been nearly covered by the silting from the floods and neglect of maintenance. It's also possible there are stones no longer visible.
At this time, it is not known why Henry Young and 3 of his children have stones in both this cemetery and in nearby Fairhaven Cemetery, where his wife and other children are buried.
