Start in Purdin at the Intersection of MO State Hwy. 5 and MO State Rt. C. Go north on Hwy. 5 about 1/2 mile and turn right onto Fair Drive (gravel road). Follow this road and keep to the left past an Intersection and then a private drive and on to the bridge over Lowe's Branch. Go past the bridge some 300 + yards to find an area to park vehicle in this bottom ground. Walking, follow the Branch contour west about 1/4 mile to a 2nd. ridge (pipeline area) hill. Climb up this hill to the top of its ridge and locate the Gilmer gravestone on the right, near tree line and undergrowth. This gravestone is a newer style so it must have replaced original tombstone and was likely done by local family members.

It is thought other graves are close by, but their stones are no longer able to be seen. To find them would take careful probing.
