Located behind the former Saint Joseph Roman Catholic parish and the Saint Joseph's old Cemetery, access is gained from the 300 block of West Saint Joseph Street. Once operated by Saint Bernard's parish, it is now operated by Our Lady of Mercy parish after the consolidation of Saint Bernard, Saint Joseph, and Saint Michael parishes. It is the second of three cemeteries owned and operated by the formed Saint Bernard's parish. The first is Saint Bernard's Church Grave Yard adjacent to the Our Lady of Mercy Parish at Saint Bernard's Oratory at 132 South 5th Street. Many of the graves associated with the Graveyard on this site are actually located in the Cemetery behind St. Joe's. The dividing line between Saint Bernard's Cemetery & Saint Joseph's old Cemetery is hard to find unless you are familiar the area; but the former parish's garage is the landmark to look for. West of the back wall of the garage is Saint Bernard's Cemetery, north and east of the garage is Saint Joseph's. Saint Bernard's 3rd cemetery is Gethsemane Cemetery in Palmer Township.
