I was taken to this cemetery in 1997 by Colson Asher who was taking care of it at that time. He showed me the large monument saying, "ASHER, Jackson D. 1817-1888, Margaret 1815-1900." Adjoining the large monument was the original headstone of Jackson Davis Asher, and it was also legible. I have a picture of both markers, but I cannot read the older one. Other monuments include Josiah Asher and Robert Fairchild, two cousins who overheated while working in their grandfather's (Jackson Davis Asher's) corn field. They "overdosed" on cold water and died simultaneously. I can also see the grave of John Asher, b. Sept 1841, d. Dec 3, 1870. I don't remember if there were other markers. This cemetery had a beautiful iron fence around it. The fence had once been around the Bell County Courthouse, but it was removed and re-used by the Ashers. I have a picture of the fence also. If you go to the Asher Reunion the first week-end in October at Redbird, Ky, this cemetery is nearby. This is not the same cemetery as the Dillion Asher Cemetery which is located on the grounds of the Redbird Settlement property.
