Search Shaw-Bly Family Farm Burying Ground:

Burials ranged from 1787 to 1864. Located and now lost along the roadside of the old Little Hoosic Valley Road from Stephentown north through Cherry Plain to Petersburgh at a point now known as Bly Hollow Road. A nearby fork in the highway leads up Bly Hollow to the Old Dutch Church on the Plateau and on to Poesten Kill hamlet. This spot was in Stephentown, Albany County until Rensselaer County was split off. Then it was part of Petersburg, Rensselaer County; then South Berlin, Rensselaer County; then South Berlin proper was incorporated as Cherry Plain. However, this location is SW outside the city limits of Cherry Plain, so the postal address is Bly Hollow Rd Petersburg, NY 12138. The Burying Grounds are lost to heavy farming and road realignments, but Rensselaer County Records survived that document the Burying Grounds and its few dozen occupants.
