According to Between the Rivers Magazine, June 1998: "Last fall a group of former concerned residents of Between the Rivers formed an organization called "Rescue the Cemeteries". Early this spring on a beautiful knoll overlooking Barkley Lake on what was the Lady property, a two-hundred year old cemetery was rediscovered. Louise Stafford, a spry and vivacious octogenarian, along with members of ROC, located the cemetery of Jacob Lady, first member of the Lady family known to be in America. Mrs. Stafford is a great-great-great-granddaughter....One cemetery on the homestead is registered and known as "The Lady Cemetery", while the oldest, containing the graves of Jacob, his wife Margaret, two of their sons and wives, was almost lost forever, had it not been for the determined efforts of Ms. Stafford. Small white crosses were placed on each grave. Stafford, along with other Lady family members, plan to erect a monument to make sure the Jacob Lady Cemetery will not be lost again.
