BC Archives lists 27 deaths in Alice Arm between 1909 and 1981. Of the 15 with attached death certificates, none are interred in Alice Arm; all are removed elsewhere. Those listed here were identified by a reading of The Alice Arm and Anyox Herald (in publication 1921 to 1935). Anyox, 17 miles down Alice Arm, had a population of up to 3,000 at its peak and had regional facilities, such as a hospital and regular funeral services. Unlike Anyox, Alice Arm still exists and is across the bay from Kitsault.
Alice Arm, during its day, was a forestry town but mining, including the Dolly Varden mine, was its primary employer. With a number of hotels and other accommodations, it is also where many from Anyox came on their vacations to escape the fumes from the smelter there.
