This cemetery is mentioned in a deed, made in 1834 from Elizabeth Lacy to Green and Ellis Duncan, in Deed Bk. 20, page 159 Nelson Co. Kentucky Records. It reserved ¼ acre, used as a graveyard. This cemetery was destroyed in the 1920’s. It consisted of about 12 monuments of the Lacy and possibly Overton families (excerpted from Nelson County Kentucky Cemeteries Vol. 1). The farm, near Bloomfield Kentucky, was owned by Duncan heirs until Joseph Duncan Whittington and his wife Lily Franklin Whittington’s estate sold the land to the Mattingly’s in 2017. The farm had been neglected for many years. The Mattingly’s removed cedar thickets from the land and recovered two of the stones. These stones belonged to Batte Cocke Lacey and Elizabeth Overton Lacy.
