Old oak trees and hornbeams characterize the FriedWald at the cultural-historical site of the garden kingdom Dessau-Wörlitz in Oranienbaum. The uniquely beautiful park and cultural landscape was created in the 18th century. Today, the status as a UNESCO World Heritage Site shows the importance of the garden kingdom in the biosphere area Mittlere Elbe in Saxony-Anhalt.
The deciduous forest with old oaks and hornbeam runs north of the road from Dessau-Roßlau to Oranienbaum. The forest area lies between the so-called Kapenschlösschen and the information center of the biosphere reserve "Flusslandschaft Mittlere Elbe". There is also a covered seating area that offers protection and invites visitors to linger. At the devotional place, where a wooden cross stands, relatives can commemorate in peace.
