When Wallace Kallam surveyed this cemetery for a book he published in 1983, he said that Elder Sebron Sechrest, 1934 Welch Rd., owned the property and told Kallam that an old church once stood beside the wrought iron fence whose remnants enclosed the four stones. Sechrest had plans for building another church (perhaps the one that is there now.) Kallam described a large granite stone inside a broken gate in addition to the stones, which had no dates. An old photograph can be seen at http://cemeterycensus.com/nc/surr/cempic.htm?cem=191&pic=191b.jpg&wrd=NORMAN_CEMETERY.
I made photographs of the cemetery in 2001. Since then, I heard a rumor that the graves were to be moved across the road to make room for a parking lot for the church that was then beside the graves. The photograph here: http://cemeterycensus.com/nc/surr/cem191.htm would indicate that the graves were indeed moved in 2005.
