General Description: Located near the community of Upper Fairmount on Maddox Island. Property previously owned by Dick and Bea Warbasse, but the portion which contains the cemetery is currently owned by an archaeological trust. A number of old trees around the cemetery which is about 50 feet by 50 feet, situated about half way up the lane to the old Capt. Ford house off Fishing Island Road.
The site is located within the bounds of the Ancient Patent called Inclosure issued to Thomas Maddox in 1740 for 590 acres, a resurvey of an earlier tract known as Maddox Inclosure (1680).
John Maddox is taxed for 590 acres on the 1783 tax list. Near the home of Capt. William T. Ford, on the 1877 Atlas of the Eastern Shore.
The cemetery contains three table top graves and two other stones. There were also several field stones apparently marking the boundaries of the cemetery.
