There are two different burial grounds prefixed with Childwickbury:

One focused on horses, "Childwickbury Stud" where the Joel family's horses are buried. It is one of the oldest thoroughbred stud farms operating in the country with a long history of breeding top class racehorses.

The other, "Childwickbury Manor", with burial ground for Stanley Kubrick and daughter Anya Kubrick. The Childwickbury Manor was created by Sir John Blundell Maple (who established Childwickbury Stud).

The Childwickbury Stud, in 1882, Sir John Blundell Maple purchased the Childwickbury estate, and founded the stud in 1888. Childwickbury stud became the largest breeding establishment in Britain and was home to a number of high class stallions. Following the death of Sir John, the estate was sold to Jack B. Joel in 1906. With his careful breeding and purchase of broodmares, Jack Joel was head of the winning owners in 1908, 1913 and 1914.
