"Location: SE 1/4 of NE 1/4 of SE 1/4 of NE 1/4 Sec. 35, Twp. 5N, R1E. After crossing the Kaskia River bridge at Vandalia, go south on Rte. 51 for 8.4 miles (two miles south of Shobonier), turn left, drive east 2.1 miles until you come to a slight jog in the road, where there is a cross road. It is necessary to park the car here and walk south for about 1900 feet on an abandoned road until you cross Lee Creek and climb the south bluff. The cemetery is about 70 feet west of the road among some trees. The cemetery was abandoned many years ago and is overgrown. Although it is called the Lee Cemetery, there are no Lees buried there. A Lee family owned the land. Oliver M. Aubery, who is buried there, was [a] relative of the Lee Family."

Description originally provided by Dorothy (Knight) Lewis of Mulliken, Michigan in 1996/97. Directions followed by Virginia (Whobrey) Walker, direct descendant of James & Elizabeth Knight, and they bear true.
