Most likely named because of all the persimmon trees in the area.

To get there from Columbia, takes Highway 7 north. Shouse Road is on the left about a quarter mile after the sign for Hilltown Church on the right.

Drive down Shouse Rd a little over a mile from the highway. You'll see a wide gulley on the right side of the road and house on a hill on the left side, which is 3471. Next to the house on the left, there is a dirt drive with a metal gate. That's a place to park.

You'll see a fence to the left. Go around the fence and follow it. You'll immediately see an access to the other side of the fence but DO NOT use it. After you get into the woods, the ground slopes down. You are now entering the cemetery.

There are many depressions, some are marked with flagstones, some not. I found only six readable stones. The rest are there but not well marked.

THERE ARE TICKS in the area. Be aware of this and prepare accordingly.

Be sure to get permission from the house on the hill.
