In 1749 York County was formed from Lancaster County.

From "Brief Neely History" written in 1959. "Ebenezer Cemetery: The following information with a list of graves in the Ebenezer Cemetery by Dorothy Poag, reunion meeting July 25.1935: To the right of us lies one 0f the oldest burying grounds in this surrounding community. During the early days many families had burying grounds on their own plantations. But the Ebenezer Cemetery had been a community burial place from the first. In the old part where there are no markers, graves are located. The oldest are marked with soapstone grace stones. A few of the tombs have coat-of-arms engraved upon them, and some a face with wings which was a custom brought from the old country...In 1955 a complete cemetery directory was compiled by Miss Mabel Jackson.
