Search Monongah Mine No. 6:

On December 6, 1907 there was an explosion in Fairmont Coal Company Mines 6 and 8, which were connected for ventilation purposes. According to sources, 475 men were in the mines at the time. Of those, 362 were recovered and 113 were never found. Their final resting place is in the mine.
