This cemetery was originally recorded by Leta Rickard, sometime in the 1970's. She was the Starkville Town Historian and described the location for the cemetery as "near Price Farm on road near Owen D Young Inn" It is on land that was originally part of the Levi Weeks (1799-1890) farm on what is now known as Hoke Road.
Visited in October 2016. The leaves were beautiful and it is a very peaceful place. The land the cemetery is on is listed as abandoned agricultural land by Herkimer County. To get to the cemetery park on Hoke Road (you cannot access it from Hwy 80) at GPS location N 42.91511 W 74.79604. The cemetery is about 300 steps south and east of this point. If you walk toward the drop off to Hwy 80 and turn left you will soon come to the graves.
Smith graves are entered here from Leta's notes at the time. There was extensive vandalism at some time before 1997. Graves with photos were verified and recorded in 1997. Even fewer stones are visible in 2016, including the Levi Weeks(1769-1857)stone which is now completely covered by earth.
