Search Byram African-American Cemetery:

This cemetery was created by the Lyon family as a sacred burial ground for their slaves, ex-slave, and slave descendants to rest in peace. It has always been in existence and was considered part of the Lyon Old Cemetery which also include Byram Cemetery and the Lyon Cemetery. This is the burial ground for the earliest African-American residents in the Greenwich. The Town is now in the process of acquiring all three cemeteries. There are plans for the Byram African-American Cemetery to become a historic African-American Cemetery.
