June 30, 1937 the Indian Pioneer History Project surveyed this Cemetery. Listed as #616? Under Cemeteries-Choctaw. Describes as follows:
In reference to Chenoweth graveyard located on top of small hill in a Cedar grove and Oak timber, in Sec 28. Township 11-s (or1-s) Range 1s E (or 12-E)., Atoka County. Condition of graves and headstones is good. Four graves marked with cedar tree at head and foot. Age of trees about 60 years. One grave with a steel fence around it. Three with native stones without inscriptions. Two with marble slabs with inscriptions. All Graves have been fenced with lumber, fence has been destroyed by forest fire. This graveyard contains only the bodies of Choctaw Indians.

In another form from the above mentioned project, it states Chenoweth grave yard was founded in 1875 by J. W. Chenoweth. It was abandoned in 1882 because "began cemetery at Stringtown, Indian Territory." It lists present owners, in 1937, as J. C. Wilson. States original owners of premises as of Choctaw and Chicksaw Nation. There are approximately 12 graves of which 6 are marked. General condition of headstones & premises are good.

Note in 1931 I found evidence that locals had started referring to this grave yard as Garcide Cemetery along with describing its location as 2 1/2 miles SE of Stringtown.
