Search John Q. A. Warren Gravesite:

The John Quincy Adams Gravesite is a single grave located on the farm where he was living at the time of his death. John died as a result of burns and he was buried where he was living. We have recently been told about this location by a man who's father told him the story of Mr. Warren's death, and we plan on visiting the location soon to see if we can find the grave.

In May 1910, John Quincy Adams Warren and his third wife, Elizabeth YOUNG Ferry Warren, purchased land in Madison County, Arkansas, described as the SE ¼ of the NE ¼, the E ½ of the SW ¼ of the NE ¼, in Section 25 Township 16, Range 27; and the SW ¼ of the NW ¼ of Section 30 Township 16 Range 26, containing a total of 102.09 acres. This property is located about a mile southeast of the Cobb Creek Schoolhouse and Roxton. They lived here until John's death in February 7, 1917. Elizabeth sold the land to Charles Loveland on February 16, 1917 - 9 days after the death of John.

UPDATE: In May 2016, Several members of The Madison County Genealogical & Historical Society visited the area where the Warren farm was located, but a lot of bulldozing and clearing has been done over the past 50 years in that area, so we have been unable to determine where the Warren house was located and have not found any evidence of his grave which was near the house.
