Ciudad Mier (south of Falcon Dam) also known as El Paso del Cántaro, established on March 6, 1753.
This cemetery is a cemetery for the residents of Mier, Tamaulipas, Mexico. Many of the old death certificates list the burial place as "en esta Villa" meaning at the cemetery in the city/town/village in which the deceased person was a resident. In addition, some of the burial places have been translated as a "country side" burial.

The land was originally owned by Felix de Almandoz. Land later passed on to General Prudencio Basterra who married Felix's sister Ana Maria. 19 Families from Camargo formed the new settlement.
