Also Hamilton County Infirmary

The Cincinnati City Infirmary opened in Hartwell in 1851. It served the poor. Inmates who died paupers were buried in its cemetery. In 1924, it was renamed the Hamilton County Infirmary, run by the county for the poor.

There is almost no information on what happened to those buried in the cemetery. Death certificates name specifically the "City Infirmary Cemetery, Hartwell" distinguishing it from other Potter's Field and poor cemeteries in the county.

Nothing has been found to suggest bodies were removed to another cemetery.

The Hamilton County Infirmary was rebuilt into a five-story, 340-bed complex called Daniel Drake Memorial Hospital in 1952.

Today the Drake Complex is part of the University of Cincinnati Medical System and provides rehabilitation, post-acute care and long-term nursing care services.
