Located on the north side of Route 684 (Howertons Road). Two surveys, each by local surveyors Michael Wind and Peel Dillard, show the cemetery (about 40 feet square) on the east side of the lane off to the west of the earlier house site, about 100 yards south of the back corner. There is evidence of multiple depressions and scant evidence of periwinkle after the area was logged sometime about 2005. Area resident Steve Winder recalls being told that there were only wooden cross grave markers here. If the burial area actually covered 160 square feet, it would contain several dozen burials.

In 1875, Richard Brooks owned 165.75 acres here, adjacent to A.J. Derieux to the north. Also, Beverley Brooks owned an adjacent 63.75 acres, and there was also an adjacent 6-acre parcel that was jointly owned by Beverley Brooks and Lewis Durham Brooks. Since we have no evidence to indicate any other burial site for Beverley Brooks's parents Lewis Durham Brooks and Maria Alexander, they have been included here.

In 1884 the land tax record shows Richard Brooks owned three parcels [Rappahannock District]: (1) 172.5 acres (of which 46.5 acres were conveyed to Austin Washington), (2) 126.25 acres adjacent to Wakefield [sic]; and (3) 163.5 acres adjacent to A.J. Derieux. By 1894, Richard's land taxes were for a combined amount of 289.75 acres adjacent to the tract called Waverly.
