Dungeon's Chapel was an African American Church near Pleasant Valley, Virginia. Widower Israel Dungeon purchased an eight-acre tract of land in the Spader's Church neighborhood from William and Cathrin Sandy on August 9, 1879, and later additional land was given by his son, Speak Dungeon. On September 18, 1879, Israel Dungeon deeded a lot to be used for a church and burial ground. A small church building was likely erected in the early 1880's. Later a second structure was moved from the Whitesel's Church location in 1893 or soon after, for the church's use. The church was referred to as Pleasant Valley or Pleasant Valley Methodist occasionally. The church is no longer in existence, but a small graveyard is located beside the old structure. This is also the site of the Pleasant Valley Colored School, which was built in 1885 and operated until early 1925.
