On September 18, 1971 the first known survey of this cemetery was completed by Dr. Allan E. Marble. Per his usual method, he identified the cemetery by a number, in this case 108. He did not often name a cemetery but he did so with this one, calling it the "Bayard Burial Lot". He mistakenly gave the location as Wilmot.

At a later date, volunteers transcribed Dr. Marble's original survey notes and made them available online and, at that time, the volunteers gave the cemetery the name "Bayard Cemetery" and used the location Dr. Marble had noted, Wilmot, rather than the correct location, South Farmington.

The memorial consists of a single monument enclosed by a deteriorating picket fence. It contains five inscriptions for members of the same Bayard family.

DIRECTIONS: The cemetery is located on the west side of Highway 201 and Bayard Road, far back in an open field. Park at the gate to the field on Bayard Road, across from Civic #26.
