Established in 1891 on land donated by Sarah Woolfolk, wife of William H. Simrall, the church and cemetery were in use for many years. The cemetery was abandoned by the 1970's and only recently made once more accessible thanks to the work of Roy Lewis of Maringouin.
Most of the graves were unmarked or are now lost. Of the few that remain, some are in remarkable condition, though many are almost completely overgrown.

There are only a few standing graves (some overgrown or toppled over) in the cemetery, which has been cleared and made accessible by Mr. Roy Lewis of Maringouin.
In the back right corner of the cemetery, the Calloway family graves are fenced in. The graves towards the front are visible, but the ones in back are completely overgrown and inaccessible.
The Simrall family grave stands tall and alone in the far left corner of what is left of the cemetery. Behind it runs Bayou Maringouin.
