Memorials 29 added (72% photographed)

The MONUMENT STONE in the center of this cemetery list 21 names of early Scott County Virginia settlers reported to be buried in this location. This small cemetery for the Brickey Family, located north of Ft. Blackmore on route 619 (Big Stoney Creek Road), marks a valuable historic location of some of the early settlers to Scott county, Virginia. The 21 names on the MONUMENT are: Alaline, Baby Boy, Caroline, Elizabeth, Elizabeth Cox, Jalia, James, John, Loucinda, Lucinda, Malinda, Mary, Peter, Sarah, William C. Sr, William C. Jr., William Jean Brickey, and Isaac Flanary, Rachel Flanary, Temple Flanary, and George Spencer.

The individual memorial to Jean de Briquette (Brickey), a French Huguenot, states he arrived in Charleston, S.C. in 1690 and as this cemetery suggests moved north, settling into what is now Scott County Virginia in the late 17th century or early 18th century.
