This cemetery was established about 1766. The people who established it were Quakers, and so the earliest graves were not marked with engraved stones. The cemetery is located on town property under a conservation restriction. This cemetery was succeeded by the Friends Burial Ground. The town assumed care for this cemetery in 1926.
The Massachusetts Historical Commission refers to this cemetery in MACRIS as BOL805.
This burial ground is referenced to in the book "Vital Records of Bolton, Massachusetts to the end of the year 1849" Published by: Franklin P. Rice as G.S.1.
